Low-Light/ No Light Courses

Course Overview

Our Low-Light/No-Light courses has become  one of the most unique classes we offer.  Everything is changes when the lights go out.  From equipment, tactics, and the use of concealment..  training in the dark tends to get overlooked.  But the reality is the odd of encounter is statistically much higher.

Generally we startthe class 3-4 hours before sunset to allow us a to cover a wide range of weapon handling skills and shooting positions including the use of cover. We then  then get into the use of flashlights, weapon lights, the different styles and techniques concerning both rifle and handgun platforms.  Also, the stresses of cover and concealment in terms of low-light /no-light conditions, 360 awareness, and most importantly, threat identification. This class is a dual weapon platform, unless noted, this class is usually a 2 dual platform course with handguns and rifles

Things change drastically once the light goes out and you need to prepare yourself, both in equipment and mental mindset.  Full color targets, flares, flashlights, strobes, full dark, LEDs, and chem-light are used to help create a safe, but intense environment. We want to give the experience to the individual of what it's like to function in a low-light/no-light setting.   The goal of Granite Firearms Training is to give the attendee the full experience.  And maybe a few surprises.

The class times vary depending on time of year.  In general, class will start 3-4 hours before sunset, and then continue into the dark for another 4-5 hours.  Class will span 8 hours.
